It’s time for me to take a vacation. I haven’t been on one for a year and I am so looking forward to more than a few days off. This time I even planned a trip to Memphis with my son. I’ve never been and he wants to visit the Gibson Guitar Factory. So off we go, but I’ll be sure to let you know what it’s like.
My last getaway was several years ago with my son when we visited my former Army roommate at Fort Polk, La. and then drove into New Orleans pre-Hurricane Katrina. I loved it. It was one of the city’s I had always wanted to visit but never had. I’m so glad I went now. I think the best part, beside being on vacation with my son, was the great food. So Memphis should be just as much fun because we are staying downtown within walking distance from everything and I hear it has some kick ass BBQ.
